Considering Buying inReach Mini 2 For ATVing - Is it Worth The Money?

I live in BC Canada and do a lot of ATVing on the West Coast. I need to buy an SOS device for when I'm out of cellular range, is the Mini 2 good for this? Does anyone have any experience for ATV use? Is the device OK getting bumped around on a SxS? What other costs are associated with this device? I have a Garmin Montana with backcountry maps for BC and it works great, is there any way you can sync both devices together?

The Montana has a setting to pair/connect it with a Garmin inreach device.

Perhaps you should think about to sell your Montana and buy a Montana 700i or 750i with built-in inreach technology. No ATV use experience here on my side.

My response is not unique to ATV outings. I have used mine when boating on Lake Powell where there is no cell coverage, backpacking, trail running, international travel, etc. It is very nice to have both for the SOS capability and for messaging to keep in touch when off the cellular network. I don't have a Montana, but the InReach pairs very nicely with my phone and with my Garmin watch. I am very happy with the InReach.
