Messages not getting to family

To add more info.... when I look on the mini itself and try to send a check in message it only shows my email as an option. Even though I have my husband entered on the Explore app on my computer and on my phone in the app.

Have you really added your husbands email address at the Explore.com webpage at the quick message address settings?

Yep. His email and phone number are the only things in there. Mine isn't even there. But on the unit itself, my email is the only thing that shows.

If your mini 2 is connected with your phone and you open the Explore app (mini 2 is paired/connected), it should sync with the Explore webpage. I really don’t know what is going wrong. Perhaps someone else has an idea.

Btw: have checked it (for me): added an additional email and my phone number to the check-in messages on the Explore wbpage, opened my Explore app on my phone, enabled my mini 2. synced and sent  some check-in messages: all have already the additional email and my phone number inclouded.

Well I stopped in to REI to get some help and it worked! It turns out that I stepped outside to send the message but never took the unit outside again. I am 35 minutes from REI so in that time it picked up a satellite and updated my changes. So problem solved. Thanks for trying to help!

I was surprised that it didn't actually send the text, but rather sent a text that he had a message and to check the messenger app. That's fine, just interesting.

Yes, the device needs a iR satellite connection to send the messages. That can take some time. If you go outside, send it and go inside before the message is sent, it will only happen if you go out for awhile again. If not- it is additionally burning battery, because it tries to send again and again...
