Inreach not getting texts back from others

My inreach mini is sending texts out but I don't always get a response back until I forget the device and reset it. It shows connected on the screen both on my phone and my inreach. I am using this off shore for fishing trips

Not sure what the question is.

You are not receiving replies to SMS messages sent to third parties at all? You are receiving them, but they don't show up in the app? (Which mini is this, and therefore which app? You say Mini but posted in the M2 group.) Something else?
