Does the Mini 2 have GNSS Dual-frequency?

Some of Garmin's newer watches (e.g., Fenix7 and Epix Gen 2, higher end models) have dual frequency GNSS, so it's not just for professional devices.

FWIW, DC Rainmaker says in his testing dual frequency doesn't significantly improve accuracy, but that's not to say future firmware updates can't make a difference.

On the watches, dual frequency uses more battery, so that may have been a consideration on whether to include it on the Mini 2.

About professional devices, maybe I have expressed myself wrong: I meant that in professional devices (with specific antenna for GNSS, dual frequency,...) high precision (centimeter) can be obtained. My mobile is not a professional one (Xiaomi Mi 9) and it has a dual frequency, but it does not reach that submeter precision, but it is higher than other GNSS receivers with classic frequencies.

It's not important. Also, I just discovered that the Mini 2 also receives Beidou, so added to GPS and Galileo I don't think anything else is necessary

I appreciate the effort, but that article doesn’t answer the question, either. All it says is that the Mini 2 supports multi-GNSS (I.e. multiple constellations). Multi-GNSS does not equal multi-frequency, which is a different concept altogether.

I understand that. However, the specs list does answer the question in the form that it shows what gps functions it uses and if the Multi-band frequency support is not listed as it would be with the GPSMAP 66sr etc... then it indicates that it is not included with that device.

Nothing happens, I have been comparing these days the sensitivity of the GNSS receiver of the M2 and two mobiles with the same GNSS networks + GLONASS and the precision is greater in the M2. The deviation of the tracks is clearly less. The comparison has been being located in the same position, obviously. Very happy overall with the M2 (although the software could do with a better and simpler organization, but ok)

Why is it so dang hard to get this answer?  It seems garmin is attempting to hide the fact they don't support the L5 frequency in their products.  Other fruit companies now support L5 in their watch...I hope Garmin can catch up eventually.  Love the instinct and inreach mini, but they can't rest on their history.  mini 2 should have had L5!

Sales and marketing people never like to say "no". If the answer is not "yes", they will go round and round but never answer...
