Does anybody know how the EPO file is updated on the Mini2?
Mine shows EPO:Expired, synchronization with Garmin Explore App didn‘t help.
btw: you find it under: Settings > System > About

Try rebooting the unit after the sync.
Have you tried syncing the device using the Garmin Express (not Explore) app on a PC or Mac?

Sync-d with Explore app. Rebooted. Still shows expired.
I don't know about Express. You should NOT be forced to use it - except for f/w updates, it is generally useless with regard to the "explore universe".
Edit to add: Mounted the M2 and verified that Explore app did not deliver a new file.
Edit again to add: Sync with Express did deliver it. Yet another example of the huge mess Garmin has made of the application space for iR devices. Maybe they'll integrate f/w updates with Facebook? /rant
Thanks to all of you for your replies. I just had a chat with support, and he told me to use Garmin Express, that did update the EPO file.
I just thought I could do everything wireless, but now back to good old times with cables.
I agree that you should not have to use Express, although do note that the linked support article explicitly mentions Express and Connect, but not Explore (gawd, these self-proliferating Garmin apps are driving me batty). I just tested manually deleting the EPO file from the Mini 2 (it's located at \GARMIN\RemoteSW\EPO.BIN), and then syncing using Explore, and didn't get the file back either. However, when using Express, the EPO file reappeared immediately.
Could this be an Explore-specific issue? Did it ever work using that particular app?
Edit: Ah, I see Garmin Support answered that question in the meantime. Good to know (but yes, it's unfortunate that they don't port all that functionality into Explore and do everything over Bluetooth).
Garmin-Leslie: would it be possible to log this as a feature request, perhaps (i.e have the Explore app update the EPO file when syncing the device)?
As always, you can submit your own feature requests here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/
Done! Thanks.

Where did they answer this? I do not see any support answers in this thread....
