I was watching a video about the war in Ukraine and spotted something on the reporter vest that looks a lot like a Garmin inReach Mini!

I supposed that it's used mostly so that they can keep track of where the journalist is and communicate with her.
One thing I wonder in these situations is how safe it it to use that. Doesn't the device store her location waypoints locally? And if she gets taken by hostile forces can't potentially track back where she's been (potentially revealing sensitive locations?) - that said, the hostile forces seems terribly organized so probably not a big deal, but makes me wonder if some features of those military-oriented wearables that Garmin makes (like "stealth mode") should be ported to this devices.
Anyways, just glad it's helpful for journalists reporting from warzones and hopefully keeping them a bit safer.
