Post a video with good sound!
Reviving an old post because this is the only topic I could find. I also had a rattle noise so I decided to open up the shell. Found out there was an extra screw rattling around inside, not attached to anything. It was one of the smaller screws used to attach the PCB to the shell, but all those points were already screwed down, so I guess it was dropped in by accident during manufacturing.
That’s pretty bad, makes you wonder how well checked they are before they leave the factory. Good thing you found it before it caused a short circuit inside, it could have gotten stuck in a circuit board and caused major issues or intermittent issues. My first 67i had one pixel that always looked like a white dot or spec of dust right out of the box brand new. Not very well checked either.
Hi there - it is not only the Mini 2 but I have the Inreach Messenger and it comes with a rattle sound and there is a extra screw inside - is this a way of providing the spare screw without loosing it in the package?
I would call Garmin and ask them why it didn’t come with a screwdriver so you can get the spare screw out when you need it. I would return it to where you bought it because it’s eventually going to cause a problem, perhaps an electrical short and malfunction and who wants a rattling gps anyway. My first 67i had a bad pixel that looked like a white dot. I don’t think Garmin is doing a very good quality check at their factory anymore.
Thanks for the advice - I must say the quality control is bad and they should take note of what batch of hardware has issues. I also noted that my hardware was sold at. a lower price when I giot it and the packaging seems to opened before.
