7000518 When looking at devices/watches on garmin.com, on the device page there is a compatible devices tab. This will tell you whether it is compatible or not.
I think you are asking how many wearable devices (watches) can pair with a single M2 at the same time. I do not know the answer to that. A single watch can pair with multiple iR devices. Don't know if more than one can be connected at the same time. Either way, the pairing is for the purpose of providing remote control of the M2 from the watch. Not for the purpose of somehow tracking the watch wearer.
In any case, the connection is via ANT+. Extremely short range. Feet, not yards.
Maybe you could provide a little more information about what you are trying to do? Maybe you are thinking of LiveTrack? That would require each child to have a watch, and a phone, and cellular connectivity. Then you could "see" them on your phone. The iR device does not enter into it. Which makes me think this is not what you are asking.

I've had an Instinct Solar, Instinct 2 Solar, f7, and Edge 830 connected to a mini2 at the same time.
Thanks, thats exactly the answer i was looking for, as twolpert has siuggested above can you track the watches through Livetrack or equivalent with mini via sat connectivity as you can mobile network?
Thanks, that was my question re livetrack through mini but youre point re range is probably why it wouldnt work certainly ant+ even if you could use it that way, i think BT5 range is much longer upto 1km so theoretically possible but i dont think any of the smartwatches use that version of bluetooth
Thanks, it was how many at the same time i was interested in, couldnt find any info on this
