Inreach emailaddress doesn't work - mailserver timed out

Hello,

I am trying to reach my Garmin Inreach account on my Montana 700i. I sent an email to <username> at inreach.garmin.com from GMail:

The response was:

The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect. For more information, go to https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7720 [inreach.garmin.com 104.18.110.111: timed out] [inreach.garmin.com 104.18.109.111: timed out]

Your inReach address looks like an email address but isn’t actually one. So it’s not possible to email to that address. See https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=bZoesi272QAbvr8RWCfiu5 for more info.

If it would be possible to simply send an email message directly to your inreach address, then everybody estimating your name would be able to send a mail.

Would you be happy about this?

Allready in normal email world, spam is real problem. Here you would be charged extra for each messages sent by someone, some spammer or bot. Would this be what you want? probably not
