Inreach Messenger will not activate - keep getting the message "The user object contains invalid values"

I know the above has been a problem in the past. I have tried using different browsers, using private windows, and clearing my cache. Does anyone know why this happens and how the issue can be resolved ? Support is closed for the weekend (support needs to be 24 hours - this is a safety device and not cheap) and I am heading overseas next week so can't wait for an email reply.

  • As all those things are not always transparent, 

    do you have somewhere special characters for example, or some phone number where the country code is not separate selected , not easy to say what is going on.

  • All I can suggest is to open a support ticket. It appears that you have done the "conventional wisdom" things.

    I will reiterate my usual advice - do not wait until the last minute to set up your plan and activate. Do it well in advance. By which I mean multiple days, not hours.

    ive just tried to activate mine (Sydney area Australia) and it just cycles a message that it’s waiting for a response, and ensure that the device has a clear view of the sky.

    its a clear day and I live on a farm. With nothing around me.

    Have subscribed, reinstalled apps, tried to start the activation with my pc, through the phone app and tue web on my phone.

    Nothing. Any tricks?

  • If you have completed the activation process online (either in the Garmin Messenger app or on the Explore website), complete the activation process by pairing with the Garmin Messenger app or taking the device outside and giving it an open view of the sky for at least 20 minutes. If you do not receive the activation confirmation, reset the device (Full Reset of the inReach Messenger) and again pair the device with the Garmin Messenger app or take it outside and give it an open view of the sky for at least 20 minutes. If activation is still not completing on the device, please contact Product Support.
