Battery drain while device off

Why is my Messenger battery draining while the device is off? It was 100% when I powered it off, now 24 hours later I power it back on and it's at 95% How does it lose 5% when the power is off?

Hello, Please see Improving the Battery Life of Garmin inReach Products. You will want to make sure the software is up to date on your device. Once you have done that please make sure your battery is charged to 100% and then test it again. Keep in mind even when powered off there are things like temperature that could affect the battery.
