Altitude

Question

Hello,
The data fields offer three options for altitude:
1 - Altitude
The altitude of your current position above or below sea level.
2 - GPS Altitude
The altitude of your current position as measured by GPS.
3 - Altitude Above Ground
The altitude of your current position above sea level.
I tested the first two, and they showed a significant discrepancy.
I need to test this at a location with a known elevation.
In the meantime, any explanations would be welcome.

Hello 5021107 I would love to help with this. There is always going to be a margin of error with elevation. The Altitude is going to include the barometer reading. This can be heavily effected by environmental factors. Here is a link with more information. Elevation Accuracy of Outdoor Devices With Barometric Altimeters 
 The GPS elevation is also going to have a margin of error. This will be effected heavily by the strength of your GPS signal. GPS Drift and Environmental Factor Impact on GPS Accuracy for Garmin Outdoor Handheld Products 
 Since these are each going to have a margin of error, based on separate factors, it would not be surprising to see these giving different readings any time throughout your activity.
