DD direct input

Recently purchased a H1. I have a few issues so far. 1. I cannot direct input DD into the device. 2. The screen brightness is almost unusable even with the automatic turned off and level set to 100. I am getting constant reboots even with the latest firmware. My question: Is direct input of Decimal Degrees (DD) not an option on Garmin?

Surely the H1plus can input that format. On any other Garmin unit you would need to first go into settings, then position format and it would be there hddd*.ddddd. It has to be selected first. The brightness is a noted complaint on that device and there are lots of issues still with missing or improperly working features.
