I was very happy to buy this GPSMAP 3 weeks ago at launch, replacing my 67i, such a nice screen etc ...
After few days i understood that something was wrong : some many bugs, particularly, where is expedition mode ? why i lost my customized screens ? When customizing screen ( with data and widgets) the saved configuration disappear when switch off switch on
how to manage live track frequency ? and so many missing things ...
After 5 days, i updated with minor firmware update and the GPSMAP became crazy ... impossible off the device and it "looped" on booting with no end ...
Back to store, and they sent it to Garmin. Garmin was very reactive and i am waiting a new one .
I saw that a new firmware is available . I hope it will be better .
BTW, i still believe this GPSMAP has a strong potential , when minor improvements will be added (in addition of bugs fixed). I recommend for the next firmware version (to get a perfect GPSMAP):
- how to change the tracking frequency for live track ? 1, 10 , 30 min , as other Inreach allow
- where is expedition mode ? (but mentioned in the official specs)
- how to fully put at sleep the inreach satelitte research for message to save battery ? (but mentioned in the official specs)
- why it is not possible to put « data filed » big size, as it is only possible for other widgets?
- where is the double Position coordinates? (if it mentioned in the official specs and available on many Garmin devices)
- why it is not possible to see % of battery, or time of battery ? as it is possible for garmin watches
- Why is it not possible to write note ? (not only vocal notes). I could be very useful for roadmap back up
- how to save pictures on micro sd ?
- how to format / delete data on micro sd ?
- how to delete map ?
- Why no flashing lamp as available on 67i ? It would be great for security operations at night
