H1 stuck cycling screens on startup

Just got my GPSMAP H1 , I'm on a Mac , Garmin Express wanted to update it, which appears to have failed, now the unit boots up , gets to Garmin logo, then re-boots, and just cycles round and round this. I've tried all the fixes I can find on the internet, but it seems "bricked" to me. I'll phone support today, but wondered if anyone lease had this problem ?

Mine will do that if there is a corrupted map on it. Removing the microSD card usually lets it boot up then you can re-insert the card, attach it to a PC and delete the offending map. If it's a Map in internal memory the only way is to attach the unit to a PC and delete the maps from Windows File Manager. This may not be your problem though and I'm not MAC friendly so I don't know if you can access a re-booting unit via USB from a MAC.

Has a fairly long call to support, we tried a few things, but its "bricked" so has gone back to Garmin for a replacement. Support were very helpful, but to no avail.
