Is it possible to load GPX tracks or waypoints without using Explorer? On other GPSmap models, you can just copy them into the folder Garmin\GPX\


Also, is it possible to use custom maps?

    You can copy GPX tracks and routes to the Garmin\NewFiles folder. The GPX tracks and routes will be converted to Courses when the device starts up.

    For GPX waypoints I did not find a way yet to directly copy a GPX file with waypoints to the device and have them show up in saved data.

    Basecamp did work though, but with the caveat that if you have waypoints on the device with multi-color symbols or a different color than the default single color blue, then the symbol color will be reset to the default blue (the symbol itself will be preserved).

    Custom maps should be supported according to Garmin support docs, but I haven't tested that myself.

    Thanks for your reply!
    I’ve now uploaded the GPX tracks and they were imported (as FIT in the “Couses” folder).
    However, the “change color” command doesn’t work; they all stay light blue.
    It’s probably one of the many existing bugs.

    Yeah, seeing the same that using Set Color doesn't change the displayed color of a Course. Best report it to Garmin support.
