I like to hike on-trail to a particular backcountry area and then go off-trail. For example, I may be navigating to an untracked backcountry lake for the purpose of fly fishing. When setting a route in the device, I seem to be limited to a choice between point-to-point routes, or routes that stick to trails. Plotting a route on trail systems is quite easy within the 67i, but when I purposely want to navigate off-trail, the route planning software wants to pull my route back to the closest trail, which isn't always where I want to go. I may want to plot a route that is close to trails but purposely goes off trail.
Is there a way to toggle this (i.e. pulling or snapping the route back to the closest trail) on and off in the 67i???
