Garmin GPSMAP 67i + Garmin messenger - sending messages from App w/o data

I am failing to send messages from Garmin Messenger through Garmin GPSMAP® 67i.

Only possibility to be on internet through WiFi or Data plan? Or do I need to change some seting?

Do you have an active inReach subscription plan? If you don't have an active plan you can indeed only send messages over WiFi or cellular data.

Not sure what is happening then. Can you successfully send inReach messages directly from the 67i? And is the 67i paired correctly to the Garmin Messenger app? You might want to check Pairing Instructions for Garmin Messenger App Compatible inReach Devices. And make sure the GPSMAP 67i has clear view of the sky as inReach communication may not work when inside.

What about using the Explore app. Can you send a message through that. Do you have more than one device paired to the 67i? It could be a pairing problem.

With the messenger app you can send satellite messages when outside of cellular data or wifi range Contacts and Sending Messages With the Garmin Messenger App.
