Request Cycle Maps compatibility with GPSMAP 67i

I purchased the Cycle Maps and tried to put them on my 67i and I guess there is no compatability.

My Montana 680 has the cycle maps and it sure is useful when I am mountain biking and encounter a closed trail. I can use the cycle maps to easily find an alternate route.

I'd love to be able to have the Cycle Maps on my 67i because I like to use this newer device and it's awesome battery length and updated features like InReach SOS while Mountain Biking.

  • Help me to understand why you would need to purchase for an additional cost cycle maps when they have the same map information that is already provided on the device?

  • (That isn't a reason they don't work either.)

There isn't a strong reason to buy the cyclemaps if the maps the device comes with has the same information. Though, maybe, they look different in a way somebody prefers.

    • Given that one can get free OSM maps (with the same information), there isn't much of a reason to buy the Cyclemaps.
    • Given that (it appears) one has to pay for updates, there's even less reason to buy the Cyclemaps.

Given that the Cyclemaps (oddly, for no apparent reason) don't work, I wonder if other maps one might want to use won't work either.

One advantage of the Garmins is that one can (could?) install other maps on them. It would be unfortunate to lose that.
