Request Cycle Maps compatibility with GPSMAP 67i

I purchased the Cycle Maps and tried to put them on my 67i and I guess there is no compatability.

My Montana 680 has the cycle maps and it sure is useful when I am mountain biking and encounter a closed trail. I can use the cycle maps to easily find an alternate route.

I'd love to be able to have the Cycle Maps on my 67i because I like to use this newer device and it's awesome battery length and updated features like InReach SOS while Mountain Biking.

First of all, Garmin does not officialy list the GPSMAP 67i as a compatible device on the OSM US Cycle Map page. But the compatibility list has been known to be complete or incorrect sometimes

Then the question is then what exactly happened when you "tried to put them on my 67i"? Did you get an error message when installing? Or do the maps not show up on the device?

Previously I purchased the Cycle Maps for my Montana 680 and they work. That is why I didn't check the compatibility list first; I assumed wrongly that they must also work for the 67i since they are both outdoor units.

I purchased another license for Cycle Maps intending them to be for my new 67i. However, in Garmin Express -> Tools -> Purchased it doesn't show up.

I did a 'chat' with customer support and they said the 67i wasn't on the compatibility list which is why it won't show up under 'purchased.' They did offer to refund the $20 but I declined in case compatibility is later added for the 67i.

It's interesting that the marine GPSMAP units are on the compatibility list for Cycle Maps, along with other outdoor units. And they work on my Montana 680.

The Cycle Maps are very useful to have since I mountain bike a lot. Since many Mountain bike trails are also hiking trails then they are also useful for hiking.

I'll just have to see what happens.

Yeah also surprised it isn't compatible, since indeed other outdoor handhelds are listed as compatible.

But in the meantime you may want to look at free options, like BBBike extracts in one of the Openfietsmap formats.

Includes searchable points of interest (restaurants, hotels, hostels, trains stations, etc.), cities, addresses and more
Includes turn-by-turn directions to your destination(s)
Includes cycling, tour cycling and mountain biking options to select the appropriate route for the type of cycling you do, taking you on paved roads, unpaved roads, or on paths and trails

You can't disable the preloaded TopoActive maps?

I can disable my preloaded maps. I have to to get some of my sd card maps to show up, but I don’t have cycle maps so can’t help you with that.

It doesn't make much sense that the cycle maps don't work. "Due to the Preloaded TopoActive maps" isn't a reason if you can disable those maps.

In my original post there was nothing mentioned about the maps not being able to be disabled just that cycle maps are not compatible and the reason why. The Pre-loaded TopoActive mapping on the device can be disabled, this still does not make Cycle maps compatible with the unit.as you can see with the compatability list on Garmin.com for cycle maps https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/169655/pn/010-D1555-01#devices.

You didn't provide a "reason why". Having the same information isn't a reason (since one can disable the other map). It's odd that the cycle maps don't work.
