GPSMAP 66st vs 67i Specs

Garmin does not usually say anything about CPU in their handhelds, including iR devices. You can find the specifications they DO publish either in the manual for the device or on the sales page for the device.

https://gpsrchive.com/ tends to have more detailed specs (for example, things like GPS chip set). However, I did not see anything related to CPU there, either.

I was hoping to see if there's a difference speed wise between the 2 models. I think the biggest issue I have is too much detail when navigating around. I have the Garmin 24k topo loaded.

The map draw speed is much better on the 67 than on previous devices. Coming from a 66sr the difference was very noticeable for me.

As for your second question, I don’t think it is possible to copy Garmin maps that come on an SD card. Afaik they are linked to the SD card (to prevent copying).

Hi, I was actually wondering if the map read speed is faster when you digitally buy and install maps on the unit vs buying the microSD card or if there's no difference.
