OS Topo Maps on GPSMap 67

As Satmap has gone under I thought I would "upgrade" to Garmin with OS Mapping SD card.

Bought from Ordnance Survey Shop and arrived today. Turned on the unit, installed the SD card and performed all updates that is required. Looked at the mapping screen and was shocked to see very poor quality rendering of the OS map, akin to very low resolution jpg is this right or have I been sold a dud? I would have expected a crisp clear map on my screen!

  • What kind of maps are on the "OS Mapping SD card"? If they are raster maps that could very well explain a pixelated display the more you zoom in.

On the other hand, the display of the GPSMAP 67 has a pixel density of 160 ppi. While not considered high density it is good enough to show maps in a sharp and detailed way. But it will always be less than modern smart phones...

  • Hi thanks for taking the time to respond.
Just checked the packaging and it says detailed raster maps and here vector data. Maybe explains it but for the money you pay I would have expected better!
