Unclear how to delete truncated route from device. Sync doesn't seem to remove it

Hi all. I accidentally imported a track onto my 67i, then deleted it from Explore + resync'd the device, then imported it as a route to Explore, then sync'd that to the device.

When I open the route on the device I get a 'truncated route' warning, and it only opens a small section of the entire route (10km of 40km) on the map (presumably the 200 points only).

How do I delete this from the device, so I can start again? There's no delete option when I try to do so via the Owner manual directions for deleting a route. And resyncing with Explore doesn't remove it.

[Edit - I see the full route on the Explore app on my phone, just not on the GPS itself. I've re-synced from the app to the GPS multiple time and it hasn't updated the route]

Cheers

  • You can probably delete the route by connecting the GPSMAP to PC and then delete the specific route GPX file from the Garmin\GPX folder on the device’s internal storage.

Please note that when you use MacOS, then you need Android File Transfer (or any other tool that provides access to MTP devices) to access files and folders on the GPSMAP. Make sure that Garmin Express is not running by fully quitting Express before running Android File Transfer. This is needed because in MacOS only one application can access a device via MTP.

And instead of using a Route you could also try a Course from Explore. Courses have fewer limits on waypoints than Routes.
