gpsmap67 - GARMIN folder in the Finder....

I don't seem to be able to get it....

Garmin Express recognises the device. But the Finder doesn't show the volume Garmin.... (neither the main nor the SSD Card volume)

(I have tried with interface set to MTP and Garmin...).

Has anyone solved this?

(MAC OS Ventura, Mac mini M2

and BTW: I don't see the option to select removable volumes as explained here: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=ufgaLgXyiX2eSZfAsQhdu7

)

:-(((((

  • Hello Please see, Using the GPSMAP 67 Series and eTrex SE with Garmin BaseCamp on a Mac with OS 11 and Newer  on a mac you do not need file viewer for using Garmin Express. However, if you do want to get to the Garmin folder you will need the android file viewer as listed in the link.

  • thanks. as mentioned Garmin Express works but I wanted access to the folders to transfer files... (and delete some directly which the interface didn't allow eg "zombie" activity that for some reason was created

    I didn't know that Garmin GPSMAP was using Android "inside"... hmmmmm... ok... so I am using Commander One and all works

    thanks for helping

  • Just to clarify, the GPSMAP 67(i) does not use Android "inside". It does however use the MTP protocol for transferring files, which Android based devices also often use. Older GPSMAP devices use Mass Storage Mode.

    On MacOS MTP devices do not show in Finder and you need a third party utility to access files and folders on the device. One such utility is Android File Transfer (as mentioned by Garmin-Leslie), and apparently Commander One also supports MTP.

    One note though, only one application can access the GPSMAP 67 via MTP. If you already have an application running, for example Garmin Express, you need to fully exit this application before starting another one to access the GPSMAP via MTP. Since Garmin Express will keep running in the background, this may not be obvious to everyone.

  • Many thanks for your answer and help!

    noted about “Android Inside” :-)

    and so I also hope I could help someone because Commander One is great (IMO mich better than the Android transfer App which afaik is not maintained anymore by Google?)

    thanks again!!!
