Live track function not working on GPSMap67i with GC

I have tried using Garmin Connect Live track with my GPSMap67i, all recipients get the Live Track invite okay but when they select the link the map page just shows the message waiting for signal and will not display any tracking.

My phone is paired fine with the GPSMap67i , Garmin connect shows live tracking started, when you goto GPSmap67i Setup - Bluetooth it shows live track in progress.

My mobile paired with the GPSMap67i has full mobile signal and the GPsmap67i and full satellite lock.

Tried removing GPSMap67i from GC and phone and repairing and still the same issue.

I also own a Enduro2 watch and using the same phone and receiptients live track works fine, just does not work with the GPSmap67i.

Firmware version 4.70

Is anyone else having the same issue or any suggestions of anything else to try?

I know I can use inReach tracking with subscription but would also like to be able to use GC live track function when I have mobile signal.

  • Do I understand that you are NOT sending tracking points via the Iridium satellite network? If that is the case, are you recording an "activity" (fka logged points)? If so, at what logging frequency? Point is that you need be logging points to have a "track" at all.

    Disclaimer: I never use LiveTrack. I am speculating here...

  • Hi , I do not have inReach subscription active yet, which is why I have been trying the live track Garmin connect function, which works really well with my Enduro 2 watch.

    1. GPSMap67i full satellite lock showing accuracy of approx 7 feet.

    2. Open up Garmin connect app which is paired via Bluetooth to GPSmap67i.

    3. In Garmin connect goto safety and tracking - live track menu - GPSmap67i is shown as connected with tab to start live track - select start live track 

    4. GPSmap67i displays message live track started , on GPSmap67i start activity recording (record method set as auto and interval normal)

    5. Receiptients who have been setup in GC live track settings have received invitation email to view my live track , it does not matter which of my family members open the invitation the map displayed is just static showing a message 'no signal trying to re-connect'.

    6. I go for a short walk, track records on my GPSMap67i fine , in setup - Bluetooth live track is displayed as Active , I have full mobile data on my phone with Garmin connect open in the background.

    I know that the issue is not with my phone , Garmin connect , or recipient's etc as I have repeated all of the above in exactly the same way using my Garmin enduro 2 watch for the live track and all works perfectly and all my live track receiptients can see me moving across the map as expected.

    But as soon as I retry with the 67i, their is no tracking displayed on the live track map that recipients open.

    I had also been using the same function on my previous GPSMap86i and all worked as it should with the same phone and setup.

    Just seems to be my GPSMap67i with the issue , when out of cellular coverage I will be using inreach function with iridium for tracking , but Garmin manuals and spec do advise that live track in Garmin connect is one of the features that should work with the GPSMap67 and 67i series.

    I have tried master resetting my GPSMap67i and also removing it entirely from GC and my phone and then repairing but still same issue.

  • Thank you for your patience, this issue has been resolved with the newest update to the GPSMAP 67/67i. If you are not seeing your LiveTrack please make sure your device is up to date with Garmin Express. Steps to update your device are listed in the article below!
