How to uninstall maps on gpsmap 64s

I know this forum is for the 66i, but i figure the steps are the same. I recently installed a map of sweden, went there and visited, and now need to remove the map. Note that map was downloaded from garminworldmaps.com. I performed a factory reset, but that doesn't seem to remove maps. I did go in manually and deleted the file i believe to have been the sweden map on the device, while it was connected to my laptop, and opening folders via file explorer. I can't get basecamp to remove any maps.

Next i installed the Garmin Huntview Plus Wisconsin map. My device is extremely slow, and i'd like to remove this map as well. I believe that because i purchased it from garmin.com, that i will be able to redownload it later, if i want to use it.

Is there a way to remove all the maps on the device?

I'm going on a trip, where i'd like to load a smaller amount of info, to make it operate quicker.

Also, i should mention that i have a 32GB sd card loaded in the unit.

If you’re not sure what map files you need to delete you can use JaVaWa Device Manager (https://www.javawa.nl/jdm_en.html) to see what maps are installed (both on internal memory and SD card). The tool also allows you to delete maps.

Thanks for the reply. Nice program. Second question, i seem to have removed the global map (default that came with the device) from the device. Any idea where i can get it from?

If it works at all, then only through a factory reset. If it does not work then, you should contact Garmin Support. They may be able to help you.

Either ask Garmin support or maybe some other user reading this forum with a GPSMAP 64s can share the file with you. A factory reset does not restore the base map unfortunately.
