routes and courses

When I upload gpx files to my garmin inreach 66i it only shows half the route saying only 50 way points for onroad navigation can be displayed. I upload the same gpx to my garmin fenix and it works fine showing the full route. Is there any way to fix this?

The 66i indeed has limits on how many points there can be in a GPX Route. Only 50 can be used if you use routing via roads. If you use direct routing the maximum is 250 points. To get around this, use a Course FIT file instead of a GPX route file. Courses have higher limits, not sure about the exact numbers though.

If the Garmin Fenix works the same as the Edge cycling computers, the device converts the GPX route to a FIT Course on startup after you have copied the GPX to de device. So the GPX file limits do not apply in that case.
