IridiumWhere data update

I'm trying to get the addon app IridiumWhere to update its satellite info, but despite turning on both BT and WiFi, and connecting to the Explore app, it's not updating. Other times in the past couple of months it's updated promptly. There seems to be some confusion about exactly what is required to update: BT or WiFi by themselves or together, is Explore app required.

Anyone else having this problem lately?

Update: after installing v3.9 (from 3.8) of Explore on my phone, IridiumWhere updated immediately. WiFi not rq'ed, only BT 66i => phone.

I hadn't tried updating in a while, but after reading your post I did.

The way it SHOULD work is you BT your phone with the 66i. The phone will typically use WiFi (you could use cellular) to access the internet.

You open the Connect app on your phone and do a synch. This should update IridiumWhere. Explore app not required.

When I attempted this it didn't update. I went to the website and the server could not be found, where usually it was active.

I don't know why, but it appears IridiumWhere is down right now, hopefully it will return soon.

yes, I also suspect that it's the developer's side that's down. I don't have Connect installed, only use Explore for the necessary Contacts sync, when IridiumWhere has previously updated. We'll have to keep trying until it works again.

A couple of years ago I tried updating IridiumWhere (IW)using the Explore app. It never would.

I then assumed that since IW came from the ConnectIQ website, I needed to use the Connect app.

It worked on first try and ever since.

Strange.

I went to their website and it's back up. I think the issue was their server, not related to Explore.
