Garmin GPSMAP 66i stuck on Garmin Splash screen

Hi All,

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 66i with me and it gets stuck at the first Garmin splash screen. This device was bitlocked but I have removed that and also have tried to factory reset the machine but it gets stuck at the splash screen.

Also when I plug it into a PC, the PC doesnt pick up the device unless I hold down the up button on the device when the device is booting.

Im trying to save the $1000 paper weight from being a paper weight and get it working again.

Anyone got any ideas I can try?

Encrypting the device via bitlocker has to be a really, really bad idea. No idea whether or not damage was left even after you removed the encryption.

If you have not already done so, carefully follow the factory reset instructions (from the buttons) as described here:

This will wipe all user data on the device. And you will have to repeat the outdoor portion of activation. Assuming the device boots normally after the reset.

If you are sure you have completed the reset successfully, open a support ticket. The factory reset is the biggest hammer I know.
