GPS will not turn on

Hello

A spot of bother with my GPS.

A few times it will not turn on, usually after I have removed the batteries and replaced them with recharged batteries. The only way I can get the unit to turn on again is to connect to base-map, then disconnect the unit from the computer, or connect to mains power and then turn the unit on and off. After doing this the unit will once again turn on in batterry mode

Does anyone know of this is known problem ?

Unfortunately the warranty has just expired.

There are no English-language forums for handheld GPS units except for inReach devices. I have no idea why. There ARE German-language forums for non-inReach handhelds. Also, you can sometimes get help…

Clearly, this is not a 66i - which does not have removable batteries.

GPS 66 ST according to the manual. I did not realise until you mentioned it. Will post to correct section, Iain (apologies)

There does not appear to be a dedicated 66ST forum. I have no idea where to post if this forum is not the correct area. Garmin seems to be very good at making things confusing!
