no active wx in 8.80?

66i. Still the  same issue for me. Everything  is up to date as of a week ago.

"Waiting for data"  Just spins for ever. 

I opened a support ticket with Garmin Support after the rep turned his 66i on and got same result.

He said someone would be following up with me.

That's been about a month ago, and I haven't heard anything.

• I've bought a lot of garmin devices. But i wish i hadn't bought the 66i; it feels like it is an abandoned product. I will update my reviews accordingly 

take it easy, this issue exists since last year and there was just 'we work on solution' from support

I assume it will remain so for other long time or the function will be removed in some future update completely.

You can use the inreach weather, this brings the money in circulation and will work against the inflation.

The problem continues. The app isn't very useful anyway, since you can't capture the data to use in the backcountry. If you have internet access, there are better sources of weather information.

no idea, this function works or works not.

With the current FW, just now, I have no problem to receive the wx.

I did just test with 66i and even the messenger, which seems to be even more touchy in this did receive wx within reasonable time.

However we have now version 9.20 on the 66i, so we just remember the 8.80 as being  probably the worst release of anything that time.
