66i keeps showing sending inreach message

my 66i keeps showing sending inreach icon on top but no messages were sent. also when i turn the device off it says you have unsent messages do you still want to power off. so i guess my question is how do i find this unsent message and how do i delete it.

  • The status line icon just indicates modem activity, not specifically WHY the modem is on. Could even be a mail check. That said, if powering down indicates unsent data, it's not JUST a mail check.

It is not necessarily an unsent message. It could be unsent track points. I do not believe that the power-down warning is specific to the type of traffic. But I do not recall for sure.

If it's track points, powering down will just discard them. I am not sure if unsent messages get discarded, or if they are retried on power up.

The easiest way out here it to leave the device with a clear view of the sky until you can power down without a warning. Usually, this takes no more than few minutes. Note that persistent modem activity might be a mail check. So If you started with unsent traffic, and waited with a clear sky view for a few minutes, you will need to power down to see if you still have unsent traffic. You can't depend on the modem activity icon.

If the problem persists even after waiting with a clear sky view for maybe 10 minutes, you should probably open a support ticket. You can also try a full factory reset. However, I hate to suggest that since it will discard all user data on the device. And it will require you to repeat the outdoor portion of the activation sequence.
