How do you sync contacts that are loaded in the explore garmin website through the garmin explore app to the GPSMAP66i device?

I'm having issues syncing. I've got all the contacts loaded in the explore website and my phone is connected to the device using the explore app. I've synced countless times but the contacts won't update on the 66i device.

On the explore app, there's a different list of contacts to what's showing on the device.

Sync is 2-phase. You must sync the app with the web site using the Sync (circular arrow) button on the Account page in the app. Then you must sync the app with the device using the Sync button on the Device page (in the app) for the unit. Both of these sync-s SHOULD occur automatically as long as the phone has data/Internet connectivity, the device and the phone are paired via BT, the phone and the unit are powered up, and both the phone and the unit have BT turned on.

Note that the app may show ALL your contacts from the address book on the phone. At least on iOS, you must allow this explicitly (once). Don't know about Android. I don't THINK that these are ever sync-d to the device. So you might legitimately see a different list of contacts in the app than what you see on the web or on the device.

If things are properly sync-d, you should see the same contacts on the device and on the web site.

Is this the same for the Inreach explorer plus? I've synced the Earthmate app on my iPhone with the website. But I don't see how to sync the app with my explorer device. The only option it gives me is to pair the 2 devices. I've successfully paired them. But my contacts for check in messages (that I set up on the website) aren't showing up on my explorer? I've tried doing a force close of the app, deleting and re-downloading the app, turning both devices off and back on. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

It's been a long time, but I don't think the two-phase thing applies in Earthmate. There IS an explicit sync operation. More > Options > Account & Sync.
