Hi Guys
Im thinking of buying the 66i but my question is I only have an IPad ( 2 years old ) . Will this be enough to fully use the 66i or do I need a computer . In other words what could I do on a PC that I couldn’t do on an Ipad . Cheers Guys

Hard to answer that definitively.
Data sync for the 66i is via the Explore mobile app. There is an iOS version.
Firmware updates are normally delivered via Garmin Express. AFAIK, there is no iOS version - it's Windows or Mac. However, updates can be delivered OTA via a WiFi connection. I am unclear if this requires intervention from the Garmin Connect Mobile app (also available for iOS) or not. But it definitely DOES require a WiFi connection.
Having a PC also allows you to mount the device as a removable "USB drive". This allows you transfer files, such as tracks and routes, directly to the device. And to transfer tracks directly from the device. Even with the appropriate cable adapter (USB micro to lightning or USB C, depending on the model of iPad), I do not THINK that the Files app on the iPad will expose the drive.
Bottom line is that the critical functionality is firmware updates.
Unless somebody else chimes in, you'll probably have to open a support call in order to be SURE that you can get firmware updates without a PC.
Many thanks for that . Very helpful .
