I bought the 66i and it came with detailed Topo maps of Finland. How do i see these in the Explore app? They dont seem to sync from 66i to the app.

They do not . Explore app uses OSM topo maps . And Eplorer app does not sync any kind of maps between app and unit . Only Tracks, waypoints, routes etc.
Thank you for your reply. I have much better detail on my unit, so if i want to plan in detail in the app i need to download a detailed map to the app from the internet and then just sync the route via waypoints?
You can download OSM topo on Explore app(and use it offline) this map at the same zoom has the same(or very close) detail than Topo Active has .Topo active is an OSM collaboration map , so must be very similar. However if you need a very user friendly interface , you can connect your 66 unit (or clone unit´s id and make a virtual gps) and open in Basecamp , and after a few minutes , Basecamp will import (temporary ) all maps on your unit , so you can view in your pc , exactly the same map (in this case Topo Active) . You can create waypoints tracks etc etc ,and send it to 66 unit , and after doing this , you can sync from 66 to Explore app , and all the data created in Basecamp will be on 66 unit and Explore app . Am I clear or not? If you need more help , just let me know it
Thanks again for your message. The problem i have is that i dont see buildings for example on the explore app, but i do see them on my unit. I have been reading and seems that i should first start with the explore website - but i cannot access that without buying an inreach subscription. I currently dont need the inreach subscription.
Honestly I do not remember if there is a way to do it . However if you register your device but not hire a plan and not activate it , I asume that it will be only registered and you will not be charged . I remember when I bought my Inreach Mini , I was able to do this. My suggestion is that you write a mail or chat to support to ask them before try (just in case) , and when this account will be active , you will have no troubles. At last but not least , ¿ have you tryed creating an account in my garmin and loggin in the Explore app (not the website) to see if you can download maps? Please try it because I strongly believe that it can be a temporary solution . Please tell me if it worked or not .Good luck Martin
