I've used an inreach mini for several years. i recently lost it, presumably somewhere backcountry skiing. Was using it paired with cell phone for communications and using cell phone for navigation (gaia). was thinking about replacing the lost mini with 66i. Part of this is probably psychological so i don't feel as bad about losing the mini, but i am also a bit unhappy with battery life on mini.
I like to leave the device on and check for messages every hour or so, as there are a lot of work/personal challenges for me being completely off the grid. How much better would the 66i be in expedition mode battery wise, say set to check messages every 1 hour vs the inreach mini? not sure how much more juice the bigger screen uses etc. would i be better off just using the weight savings for a bigger power bank and sticking with mini?
