Configuration file uploaded by USB wont update Quick Texts on 66i but updates Contacts and Presets

Have been trying to update the presets, quick texts and contacts on 66i using configuration file uploaded by USB cable . It works perfectly for the contacts and pesets updating them everytime as expected but always ignores the Quick texts. I have inspected the configuration file and the quick text updates are there in the file but they are ignored by the 66i during the restart/update process. Am on firmware 7.20. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong

So this is a Pro feature. Can't help you there. I can't even tell from the documentation (your link above) exactly how it should work - and have no way of trying it. If it does not work the way you think…

Make sure you have changed at least one quick text before you sync. If that does not result in proper recognition of the change, contact support.

I was under the impression that these had to be updated using Garmin Explore on a mobile device?

No the option to update using a file created using the Garmin explore web site exists and was introduced to allow devices to be updated when continuously used in the field away from the internet. I am using it successfully to update presets and contacts - its just not updating the quick texts as it is supposed to.

The original manual wont mention the configuration file method as it was introduced with later firmware updates as I understand it and was introduced to allow devices to be updated when continuously used in the field away from the internet. The method is working fine for presets and contacts it just wont update quicktexts. The relevant web iste page for the method I am using is found at

I also do not have a PRO account, so I can not test for you. You will have to contact Garmin Support, and please let us know what the resolution is!

When trying configuration sync via file, I do not get the "Select Apply Updates" option mentioned at https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=Im3FeNEA0m2iKgXJ7goNg6

How is it supposed to show up?
