32GB SD card - FAT32 - Maps seen on eTrex 35T but not GPSMAP 66i

I have a number of maps generated from OSM. They have worked perfectly on eTrex 35 and 35T.

Bought two cards - 16GB and 32GB. They work fine in the eTrex. They work fine with Mapinstall. They work fine for normal file transfers.

The maps are clearly visible and usable under Map install. They are clearly visible sa .img files on the PC. They work fine on the eTrex.

On not one of the cards, can I see any maps on the the 66i.

Why?

Was the uSD card formatted and/or loaded using a Mac computer?

I have formatted to FAT32 on both a Mac and on a PC. Same result.

Maps seen by the eTrex 35T and usable. Transferred the same cards to the 66i - invisible.

Sounds similar to an issue that recently appeared on other Garmin devices. Hopefully Garmin will see this post!

Same issue here... 32GB SD Card worked fine on etrex touch 25, put it in my new gpsmap 66sr and nothing there... tried everything, reformatting etc, nothing shows up in the 66sr.

Used an old 16GB SD card and this seems to work.

Interesting....

I was gonna say I have no issue with the maps on the microSD in my GPSMAP 66sr, but I just checked and it is a 16GB card.

Perhaps the 66sr can not read 32 GB cards?

Update: Tested my GPSMAP 66sr v2.80 with a Samsung EVO 32GB microSD card without issue. All maps and data available on device.

Are there any other OSM maps on the 66 internal memory? I have a vague recollection that map ID collisions can be a problem. Not an area I know much about, though.

no osm maps on internal memory... but, as a test, I copied some osm maps there too... everything keeps working fine with the 16GB SD Card. The 32GB card doesn't show anything... now using it (without issues) in another device (camera).. so it's not a faulty card either.

@stuartnelson - What brand and model 32GB microSD card are you having issue with? What firmware version is your GPSMAP 66i?

Sandisk Extreme , firmware 2.80... but I've done some more tests with the sd-card (copying files from/to with a laptop) and I'm experiencing strange behavior there as well (copy hangs etc).... so I suspect the sd card got faulty.

I don't have any other 32GB card laying around to test... but I'll definitly will follow-up as soon as I can.
