How to get national addresses in FIND address function?

I just bought the 66i. To quickly find a spot on the map, I assumed I could use the FIND Address function, but my version, bought in Norway, only shows regions Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland and The Netherlands. What if I wanted to use this function in Norway, or any other country that isn't on this list? I have downloaded and updated both the device and the topomaps, but nothing changed.

The weird thing is that using any of the POI features shows me an extensive list of everything in my nearby, including of course all street names, cities etc. I just can't search for them…

Have you enable the preinstalled Topo Active Europe maps? I am located in Germany, but I can search for addresses in Norway. Which fw version are you using?

Hi, Volker and thanks for your answer. I have updated using the latest FW version, and have used the Garmin Express app to update the TopoMaps. I am not sure if I have enabled the preinstalled Topo Active Europe maps. Does it need some extra work? And did you buy maps to get this to work? I sent a request to Garmin, and they answered the following.

For address search to work, you need to have a City Navigator map installed on your device. Here is a link to maps for the Nordic region: https://buy.garmin.com/nb-NO/NO/p/8427

This costs about £30, which is pretty stiff given that a) the unit is one of, if not the highest priced GPS on the market, bought in Norway. I would gladly have payed £30 for a map over – say – North america or Japan, but for a GPS bought in Norway it is pretty shoddy to not include essential Norwegian functionality. Especially when all addresses and POI's are already in memory. And it is even more weird that I have access to addresses for tile relatively random selection of European countries, but not Norway...

I’ve the same problem.

Impossible to search an address in Switzerland. Only Germany, Poland,... available..

To search for addresses, you need to have map that includes that data for the region (like City Navigator) installed on the device. This article has more info: Viewing Distant Points of Interest or Addresses on a GPSMAP 66 Series
