How to connect the Garmin Edge Remote to a GPSMAP 66i?

Hi there,

m trying to use the remote of my Garmin Edge also to the GPSMAP 66i, but m not able to pair the two devices.

Ever since m having the GPSMAP m also using it as my bike computer. In many ways it is a much better device then the real bike computer (edge 1030). The only thing m missing is the remote switching of the screens via the remote.

Any idea how to achieve this?

Thanks Niklas, but that's not the remote I am talking about.

The real EGDE REMOTE (see link: https://buy.garmin.com/de-DE/DE/p/146078/pn/010-12094-10 ) allows basically to switch remotely between the screens on a bike computer. While the GPSMAP66 has nice mechanical buttons, the are still to smal to handle them while mountain biking.

I was hoping on the hacking capabilities of this community, ...

(e.g. copy the remote folder (x:\Garmin\RemoteSW) from your Garmin EDGE to the GPSMAP device and add the following line ... to config file yy)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The GPSMap 66i isn't compatible with the Edge Remote and I'm not aware of any hacks to make it work.
