Disable the 66i power-off prompt when disconnected from DC power?

I bought the 66i recently to replace my old DeLorme+. Primary reason was for tracking / out of reach communication; secondary to have a "real" GPS device (non-touchscreen) to use when off-road or in wet weather instead of my phone. I also got the powered mount for it (which so far really is not that great at all). When going on moto/camping trips, I have the powered mount setup on my handlebars, and either plugged into a battery pack in my tank bag, or plugged into a USB charger I have installed on the bike. When I turn off the bike or remove power to the powered mount (unplug the mount from the battery pack, from the USB charger, the powered mount just decides to stop supplying power on its own, randomly, etc), a menu pops up on the 66i that there is no longer direct power being provided, "Turn the device off?", showing Yes and No, with Yes being the default, and a 30 second countdown. So I'm riding along on the highway, tracking my progress (and often using its navigation as well), and the crappy powered mount goes in and out of power. It usually gets power back within a few seconds, but there have been several times where I've looked down and the device is off. I can restart the device while riding, and if I was navigating, the navigation restarts without any involvement from me. Tracking, however, does not. I've lost several trips or legs of trips so far because of this. I also have to remember to tell it to stay on when I stop for gas, breaks, etc.

Is there any way to turn off this "turn off when no longer getting power" functionality?

At least set it so that the default is to stay on instead of default to turn off?

Worst case, to be able to resume tracking when turned back on like the navigation does? (I only want the tracking to /resume/, I don't want autotrack on so that it starts every time I turn the device on).

Just one of the annoyances I'm having with this expensive DeLorme upgrade/replacement...

It is not possible to disable the power-off prompt on the GPSMap 66i. Regarding the 66i losing power when riding your motorcycle, does the device fit snuggly in the powered mount and staying snapped in place? If it is staying snapped into the mount, could it be that the USB connection with the power port on your bike may be wiggling lose causing a momentary loss of power? Either way, if you feel there is something wrong with the operation of the powered mount, please contact Product Support so we can assist you directly.

The power-off prompt is annoying and ridiculous, so it's unfortunate that it is unable to be circumvented.

Software workarounds that should be implemented since it can't currently be turned off:
• Have a setting/switch where ~I~ can choose the default. But if this is done, there's no reason to not just disable/enable the power-off prompt with the same type of setting.
• Have a setting (or just enable it - there's no setting to Resume Navigation (that I've seen)) to resume Live Tracking if it was running when powered off. I'm losing miles and tracks for tracked rides, and family members that may be following along are missing out.

As far as the powered mount goes, thank you for the suggestions. At first I believed it to be the USB charger mounted to the bike was failing. So I started plugging the powered mount into the battery pack instead. I still see the issue. I have tried squeezing the USB plug by hand - the tightness in which it seats into the USB charger and the battery pack are noticeably firmer, but I still get power-off prompts while riding. I've tried different RPMs to see if I could nail down a pattern, but no dice. If I continue to have issues I will contact Product Support.

I too have this exact same issue with the Garmin Powered mount and my Inreach GPS MAP66i installed. It's definitely not my power supply or USB connection as I have replaced the USB power with a different brand that powers other Garmin products on the motorcycle just fine. I feel it's either a software issue or poor designed Garmin Mount.

Or a mechanical resonance issue common to many motorcycles.....

I am having the exact same problem with my 66i and the Garmin mount. It’s absolutely useless for the motorcycle and does the same thing if I lay the unit flat at home. I can’t work out what could be causing it.
