Is it possible to install seperate OSM Maps on SD Card?

Hi all,

I need your help.

Is it possible to install more than one OSM Map on an 32 GB SD card?

I tried it to install it via Basecamp and changed the file name of each of the three maps.

Basecamp says there are three OSM Maps, but the GPSMAP 66i shows only one map.

Who hast the same issue?

If you DO use map install, you need to downgrade. Unless Garmin fixed it in the last few weeks, the latest version installs only thumbnails...

Yes, it is possible. Are really 3 maps installed on the SD?

did you rename the img files?

I took them from my other Garmin devices and copied them directly on the SD card. I did not use basecamp/map install. And yes, they are renamed for the .img.

This is on the SD Card.

It only shows the omtb_alps.

What am I missing?

If you look at

Einrichten>Karte>Karten konfigurieren

what did you see there?

Perhaps you only have enabled the one that is shown?

I found the Bug. Mapinstall from Basecamp does not install it properly. Direct install worked. Thank you for your support!

So are you saying by direct install, not use Basecamp map install, to copy from one SD card and paste to the other with multiple maps, that's what I need.

And what do I rename the .img file?

I don't believe the actual .img file names matter as long as each is unique.

I'm not sure this kind of direct copy always works. There are some internal map identifiers that can cause problems if they are the same in the various maps. But I don't remember details. Easiest thing to do is to try it.
