4.10 BirdsEye Direct Reset

Just updated to firmware 4.10 in the hope it would fix my BirdsEye download issue. It is now much worse. When I try to download imagery my device resets. When I power it back on, it won't connect to WiFi. When I go in to settings the WiFi is turned off and can't be turned back on.

A second power down, then restart fixes the WiFi, and the device goes back to normal. However, if I try and download BirdsEye, then exactly the same issue occurs.

Does anybody else have this issue? When I select 'Download’ to download more imagery, it shows the message about waiting to connect to servers then restarts.

The issue BirdsEye Direct feature turning off the GPSMAP 66i was fixed with software version 4.20. Please update the software on the GPSMAP 66i to the latest version with Garmin Express.

2485299 This sounds like a different issue then the BirdsEye Direct. Please reach out to the Garmin Support teams and they will help you.

On the basis that new users don't know, you can download BirdsEye Imagery using Garmin Basecamp even with this firmware bug. Just download the imagery on your computer with the 66i connected, and then…

Can confirm this for my device. If I choose download, my device shut down immediately. After first power on, no WiFi available. Second power on, WiFi is back...

Also confirmed. Please open a call with tech support. The more people who report the problem, the more likely it is to be addressed promptly.

Reboot again. WiFi should be available on the second and subsequent reboots.

Unfortunately, the BirdsEye download itself is going to need a f/w fix.

After updating the firmware to 4.10, my 66i loads to the map, then immediately beeps and switches off... I've tried soft and hard resets, nothing is working...

I just bought my unit and downloaded the 4.10 update and am having the same problem.
