Power Off

Dear Cody,

Would it be possible to add a confirmation step in the Power Off sequence?

I’ve accidentally held the middle button for a moment too long, lost all my round data, and recorded a partial score as a result.  It would be wonderful if, when powering the Z82 off, users were asked to ”Are you sure you want to Turn Off the device”, to which a confirmation button would have to be selected.

Otherwise, I love my Z82.

With thanks,

Eric

  • The Z82 has a sleep/wake function when the touch sensor located within the thumb groove is activated when held. Once you set the rangefinder down or if it is placed in the carrying case, the power saving features will automatically shut the unit off.

The power button is not needed in-between use during the round.

If you would like to submit any feedback regarding the functionality, the Garmin Ideas page linked below can also be used:

  • Hi Cody,

Yes, I use the sleep function with great success throughout the round’s use.

My issue is that if I press/hold the middle button for a fraction of a second too long the device powers off completely and I loose my scorecard and round data (mid round).  It would be nice if I either had a ‘resume round’ option when powering on the device after an uncompleted/unsaved round, or powering off the device required a second ‘are you sure’ selection.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had this happen before.  Though perhaps only a bigger issue for those of us that use the scorecard and statistics option on the device.
