How many scorecards are held in the Z82 device? Are they deleted from the device after being uploaded to the Golf App? If not how are they managed over time?

There is not a specific set amount of storage space that is recommended for scorecards, as it is recommended to sync your Approach Z82 shortly after recording a scorecard. Since historical scorecards cannot be viewed directly on the Approach Z82 and must be viewed through the Garmin Golf app or connect.garmin.com...there is not an emphasized value advertised or published providing info on how many scorecard files can be stored on the Z82 before running out of storage.
The total amount of hardware storage on the Z82 is roughly 3.5GB which must accommodate all of the various storage files, system software, and course mapping files...of which the size will be variable depending on whether the individual user's Z82 is up to date on the most current versions of device software (4.40 as of 4/26/2024) and the CourseView map regions being up to date that are installed through Garmin Express.
The average file size for a full 18-hole scorecard is roughly 2KB of space for each .FIT file stored in the Scorecard folder per round. Best practice after recording a scorecard on any Garmin golf compatible device, is to sync it over to your account vs letting them build up on the device.
