Software 27.09 not recording activity during round

My Garmin Connect app has not shown any activity after my last few rounds. Scores/shots/maps all show correctly in the Garmin Golf app.
This has been an intermittent problem since September last year. It seems to have been solved a while back but has started again. I see there was another thread on this problem that has been locked because the person complaining is being dealt with personally. We need to see how prevalent this problem is and why it can’t be fixed permanently. It’s throwing my whole exercise program out of whack.

  • Acting on advice from Garmin-MR, I emailed my local Garmin product support regarding the ongoing issues. Unfortunately, they are no longer responding.
I will let you know if they do eventually reply.

  • Hello  under Settings > Golf Settings do you have Record Activity ON prior to starting your round of Golf? If you do, but no activity data is being recorded/uploaded to Garmin Connect we would like to know.

  •  @Garmin - PW:

Sorry to jump in, but I'm getting a bit annoyed now. Have you actually read the threads on this topic? The problem also occurs when you have activity tracking enabled.

  • So this is the answer of my local product support (translated):

This often appears to be caused by a corrupt file in the watch's saved activities folder.

We would like to ask you to follow the steps below:

    For Windows:

    1. Connect your device to the computer

    2. Press the Windows key + E

    3. Select 'This PC'

    4. Select the Garmin device

    5. Select the Garmin folder

    6. Select the 'Activity' folder

    7. Select all .fit files and delete them.

    For Mac:

    1. Connect your device to the Mac

    2. Open Finder

    3. Select the Garmin folder

    4. Select the 'Activity' folder

    5. Select all .fit files and delete them.

Please note: Deleting files here only removes them from the device itself. Any activities previously synchronized with Garmin Connect remain available in Garmin Connect. If there are specific activities that fail to sync with Garmin Connect, you can try uploading the files manually.

Now it is a matter of testing; if the issue recurs, I am afraid the next step would be a repair or an exchange.

This is the same answer they gave me on November 17, 2025. So, no solution. There was a lot of subsequent contact involving other suggestions, but unfortunately, no solution.

  • Yes. I always do. I’ve tried cycling Record Activity to OFF and back to ON before a round but it doesn’t help.
I did a reset on Saturday night and the last two rounds have recorded correctly. However, this means I have to customise my watch after each reset and it seems to turn off features without me knowing. Frustrating.
Also, my calendar now repeats the same notification day after day.

  • I’m more than a LITTLE annoyed. This has been an ongoing problem for nearly a year. Atrocious service.

  • Golf round today recorded today but activity did not.
step count and calories burned seems correct.
    Come on Garmin. Fix it!!

  • Record Activity is always on. I’ve tried cycling it between rounds. The only thing that seems to work is a reset but then it only works properly for a further two rounds.

  • I can definitely confirm this is the case - repeatedly. That is why I started a thread about it yesterday. Would appreciate a reply on that. I can supply the activity files that got saved as .tff files on my watch. Apparently the problem is - The file is a genuine FIT file and the raw round data are there, but it is again missing the Lap / Session / Activity summary records that Garmin Connect expects. So, I have done some of the work for you.
