- Not a Golf related issue -
For the last 2 runs, the Average/Max Run Cadence shows 0 and the average stride length has disapeared .
Any chance we can get the stat back in the S70 (Activities/Running/[select Activity]/Stats/Running Dynamics)?
Thanks

If you are still experiencing lost cadence, even after performing a factory reset of your watch, please try the following steps:
Start an activity for your desired activity type, stop the activity, then…
Unfortunately, the same bug happened during the second run (Cadence = 0}
After the run, I did stop and restart the watch for a quick test run: cadence was reported properly.
So I guess I have to stop and…
Did a short test and this workaround worked for me
After contacting Garmin Support, I followed below intruction and the issue was solved.
Beware though that it reset the watch to standard setting and I had to reconfigure the following functionalities:
- watch face
- glance
- morning report content
- time (12/24)
- reupload music in the watch
- pair headphone
- configure music control to "My Music"
- pair with phone
I haven't play a round yet but CT1 setting seems to be correct

This issue may be caused by a temporary system glitch or a data loading error following the software update. To restore your cadence tracking to a normal state, please try the following troubleshooting steps in order.
[Troubleshooting Steps]
1. Sync and Update via Computer (Garmin Express) Please connect your device to a computer and sync it using the "Garmin Express" software to ensure all system files are properly applied.
How to Sync: https://www.garmin.co.jp/discover/garmin-express-for-fitness/
Note: When registering your device to Garmin Express, please make sure to "Sign In" using the same Garmin account (email address and password) that you currently use on your smartphone.
2. Factory Reset the Device If the cadence still shows 0 after syncing, please perform a factory reset to clear any corrupted cache or system errors inside the device.
Reset Steps: Press the [Middle Right Key] ⇒ [Settings] ⇒ [System] ⇒ [Reset] ⇒ [Delete Data and Reset Settings]
3. Re-pair with Your Smartphone Once the reset is complete, clear the old connection from your phone and pair the device with your smartphone again.
Pairing Instructions: https://www.garmin.co.jp/garmin-connection/
Unfortunately, the same bug happened during the second run (Cadence = 0}
After the run, I did stop and restart the watch for a quick test run: cadence was reported properly.
So I guess I have to stop and restart the watch before every run.
And by the way, this is the response from Garmin after I sent the diagnostic:
"Thank you for sending us the diagnostic report.
We have investigated the data in our environment and successfully reproduced the identical issue. We can confirm that this is highly likely a software-related problem.
Our development team is currently working on a fix. Please wait for a future software update to resolve this issue.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."
Hi Chris,
You are not alone. I have the same problem with my S70 since mid june. I hope this problem will be resolved soon.
Thanks for the update.
I’ve had the same problem since the last software update. A factory reset didn’t help.
This is yet another failure, on top of the issues with the device not recording activities and golf scorecards.
It’s disheartening that Garmin can’t seem to develop stable, properly functioning software for the S70.
Yes...I understand the frustation.
What works for me is a simple power off/on before every run.
I have customized the running data screen to show the cadence.
So I do a quick 100m test to make sure it works. If not just Power off/on again
I have the same issue, shall try the power off/on function.
I will not use the factory reset because will have to install all MP3's and configure my watch to my liking.
At the moment I am doing an adaptive training to increase my SPM and because it is adaptive and my cadence is 0 the program is lowering my goal :-( grrrrrrrr
If you are still experiencing lost cadence, even after performing a factory reset of your watch, please try the following steps:
Start an activity for your desired activity type, stop the activity, then discard the activity. After this has been done start the same activity type again and test for 3 minutes to see if cadence is reported as normal. This has solved the issue for many people already but must be done for each activity type you have noticed the cadence dropping to 0.
Please comment in this thread if you have tried these steps and are still noticing a cadence drop to 0.
Did a short test and this workaround worked for me
Worked for me this morning.
Quicker workaround than a Power off/on.
