Watch freezes mid round

I am experiencing a problem with my S70. Too frequently, the watch freezes mid round!  Screen touch is not responsive.  I can revert to the watch face by pressing the lower button but the screen will not respond to a touch.  I can use the top button to move to the golf settings page but it still does not accept a touch selection.  It is like the golf app of the watch just freezes.

Not sure why it is freezing but I have found that if I make another hard swing it will begin to function again but it loses the current hole info.

There is something definitely wrong in the program.  I believe I have updated the watch to the current firmware.  One other item, the problem seems to be random since it does not freeze at the same time during the round, random holes etc.

Please help!

  • I have the same issue. Happens at least twice per round. Thought it was the CT1 but touching that and it gets recognised the screen remains frozen , then after say 5 mins it starts working ?

  • We do have a team looking into this and gathering additional information about this experience. I have emailed   and  requesting additional details. Please reply to those emails with as much detail as possible.

  • Happen to me yesterday as well: in the middle of the 4th Hole, got the blue triangle of death when reaching the green.
After the reboot was completed, I was offered to continue the round wich I selected.
At the end of the round, I saved the data.
    - got two activities uploaded to Strava: the part before the reboot, the part after the reboot.
    - lost the shot recording of the first 4 holes (no hole views on the Garmin App)
    - the scorecard was correct

  • Mine doesn't go to the Blue Triangle and reboots it just freezes the screen then after say 10 mins unfreezes

  • Similar issue, yesterday S70 just closed the golf app after hole 13, started the golf app again on the watch, asks if I want to resume the round, tap resume. When I finally review the data on the iOS app, I only have shot data for holes 14 to 18, nothing for the first 13 holes, overall scorecard is correct but no shot data. Why ask to resume the round if the S70 is going to lose all of the initial data for the round, secondly why is the shot data not buffered to a bacckup file, surly the data for the shot maps is just GPS coordinates attached to a which club was selected via the CT10 or CT1 sensors, why after spending a fair amount of money on a golf specific watch it can just lose data, does not make sense!! Approach S70, CT10 sensors and Approach Z30
