virtual Caddie Decision-Making

Hi, I have a second question about the virtual caddie - was just wondering if it's programmed to 'think ahead' like a real person - like is it plotting out the entire hole in advance, so the current shot they recommend sets up the user to have the best possible shot for the next one (if the user hits the target), or is it just looking at distance, dispersion, and course map?

Thanks :)

  • My personal experience with Virtual Cadie is that it estimates/compares outcome from different clubs and propose the one that would lead to the lowest score.
This could eventually leads to layup proposal on long Par3

You can circle through different clubs and you will see the estimated score base on the different club selection (disclaimer: I haven't recently use this "feature").

  • The Virtual Caddie feature is offering a suggestion for the next shot based on previous shot data and performance stats. It is not estimating the entire hole from the first shot (unless the hole is a par 3) as it must adapt to where the ball landed when your GPS location on the course map changes.

To your question in a sense the Virtual Caddie is using information for the entire hole as you can estimate the layup distance on par 4's and 5's from where the ball is anticipated to land based on your previous club data and performance stat data...but the next suggestion will be dependent on where the ball actually ended up landing.
