I think I have solved the issue. It started working for me yesterday after these steps:
1) Make sure the latest update is installed (22.07). Install and turn off watch.
2) Go to profile and the MY BAG option (phone app). Turn on watch.
4) Add a "dummy" club to your bag. Call it dummy for example.
5) Sync the watch.
6) Start a round (can be from your house / home). On the satellite searching screen, just press skip and choose the course nearest you. Click the red X to NOT keep score. Select any tee box. Once on the first hole, press the red button and go to CLUB STATS and scroll down to ensure the dummy club is listed.
7) If NOT listed, you haven't synced --- go back to step 3
8) If it is listed, end your round (discard)
9) Go back to the profile page on the phone app and delete the dummy club. Re-sync the watch and make sure it's synced.
This should fix the problem. When you play your next round, check the Virtual Caddie....it should work (at least it did for me). Also, it's important to note that the Virtual Caddie feature will ONLY WORK when you are on the actual course / actual hole. If you've started a round for example on the watch and you're on the practice green at your club, it won't work....you have to be on the actual hole as the GPS probably knows you're not in hitting range if not on the hole...
